Sriwidjaja taken as the company name to perpetuate the history of the triumph of the kingdom of Sriwijaya in Palembang, South Sumatra highly revered in Southeast Asia to mainland China, in the seventh century AD.

In 2010 performed Separation (Spin Off) of the Limited Liability Company (Persero) PT. Fertilizer Sriwidjaja abbreviated PT. Pusri (Persero) to PT. Pupuk Sriwidjaja Palembang and the occurrence of transfer of rights and obligations of PT. Pusri (Persero) to PT. Pusri Palembang as stated didalan AGM-LB dated December 24, 2010 which became effective January 1, 2011 as stated in the Statutes Amendment PT Pupuk Sriwidjaja Palembang via Notary Fathiah Helmi, SH No. 14 dated 12 November 2010 which was approved by the Minister of Justice dated December 13, 2010-57993.AH.01.01 AHU numbers in 2010.
